The Island Inn Hotel was originally constructed in 1804, as part of the historic Garrison Area of Barbados and was originally the Rum Store for the British Regiment. It is now possibly one of the smallest all inclusive property in the world. The quaint property is two minutes from a beautiful white-sand beach of Carlisle Bay and less than a mile from the capital city, Bridgetown. Just a short stroll away, guests can find banks, shops, nightlife, the Barbados Museum, and the Garrison Savannah. With effect from December 1st 2006, the Barbados airport departure tax will increase to 55.00 Bajan dollars for persons of 12 years and over who have been in Barbados more than 24 hours. Location This small hotel has just 26 elegantly furnished and decorated guest rooms and is built around a small courtyard. For golfers, there is the opportunity to play golf at the nearby Sandy Lane course which has great views out to sea. The all-inclusive rate includes all meals, standard brand-name drinks, house wine, live entertainment, a sailing cruise, watersports, day-time tennis nearby, picnic baskets, a Dine Out programme and a trip to Bridgetown. Accomodation With 24 guest rooms & suites in five different categories, the hotel offers a personalised service. Rooms sleep a maximum of 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children under the age of 12. A la carte options are available in the restaurant and the hotel bar opens from 8am to 11pm daily. All Inclusive includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and all beverages (except champagne, bottled water and speciality wine). Complimentary scuba lessons are also available on request. Swimming Pools The hotel has a swimming pool set against a cascading fountain. The pool deck is the perfect place to relax.
