“come feed your adrenaline”

The next time someone tells you to take a walk off a cliff, go ahead and oblige them.. just do it at Jasper National Park. The Glacier Skywalk offers some absolutely breathtaking views of the National Park, so long as you don't mind standing on glass that sticks out a thousand feet above a canyon. The Skywalk, which opened just last week, was created by Brewster Travel Canada, Sturgess Architecture, and Read Jones Christofferson Engineering. The curved walkway takes visitors up to 100 feet off the cliff, which is nerve wracking on its own, until you realize that the floor is made of glass. -Roadtrippers Feed your adrenaline and step into a breathtaking world where glaciers rest above and birds soar below. Experience waterfalls, wildlife, fossils and more on an exciting cliff-edge walkway that leads to a platform where glass is all that separates you from a 918 foot drop. Welcome to the all-new Glacier Skywalk in the heart of the Canadian Rockies!    The Glacier Skywalk is an experience like no other: a perfect balance of breathtaking views, interpretive story-telling and adrenaline-pumping excitement. Start by taking your time to explore a cliff-edge walkway that is filled with nature-inspired interpretive exhibits. Look down and you’ll see hints from life thousands of years ago. Look up and you’ll see the most stunning alpine and glacial vistas. Look around and you’ll discover one of the most unique ecosystems in the world; a place where it’s so hard to survive that adaptation never stops.     The grand finale to this experience is a glass-floored observation platform 918 feet (280 metres) over spectacular glacier-formed valleys and rushing waterfalls. The entire journey is presented in an interpretive story telling format that will be sure to leave you with a special bond with our natural world that few people have the opportunity to experience.

This location was once a free roadside pullout where anyone could stop, relax and enjoy the stunning view.

No longer. Access is now restricted to buses operated by a commercial company. You have to pay for a tour at the Columbia Icefields and then ride the bus to the skywalk.

If you oppose the rampant commercialization of national parks that stops the average citizen from enjoying the parks, do not take this tour.

Was not advertised with the proper information. you have to go 15 miles down the road to the Columbia icefields visitation center to catch a bus that then takes you back up the hill to the skywalk. and if it's rainy or foggy they do not take you out and you do not get a refund. The the skywalk itself is smaller than advertised and it does not have his great of you is everyone claims it does. We were told that this was a handicap accessible excursion we had a handicapped person with us in order to get to the ice walk visitor center you have to climb more than a hundred stairs there was no handicap parking and there was no handicap accessible way to get to the skywalk.
