Ratings Summary
We had a great overnight stay at Murphys Point Provincial Park. With the weather being so nice, we wanted to find a nearby campground to spend the night from where we live in downtown Ottawa. This park is now one of our favourites.
The beach was lovely and we were right in the water. The sites were nicely spaced and had nice tree coverage. The facilities were excellent as well. We saw 3 deer, a snake, listened to an assortment of birds, and the fireflies came out as we had a bonfire. Amazing!
The store was also quite nice and we were lucky to see that the park was doing ‘Open house guided tours’ of Silver Queen Mine, which was inside the park’s boundaries and was unbelievable. A great time with staff playing a part in the tour! Also, park staff and other campers were SO friendly.
We had a great time and will be back the first chance we get!

This is lovely spot on the Rideau River system with excellent swimming and a great diving rock. Campsite are nicely nestled into the trees. Good staging area for visiting Ottawa. Not such a long drive to the Capital of Canada
