A rare chance to visit the real-life Camp Crystal Lake from Friday 13th
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to Camp Crystal Lake...
Chh chh chh… hahh hahh hahh… That’s the sound of fear. Well, actually it’s the bone chilling sound from composer Harry Manfredini that has come to immortalize Friday the 13th. But, it’s sets the right tone for this cool piece of horror news… The real-life Camp Crystal Lake from Friday the 13th is opening its doors (gates?) to die-hard Jason fans THIS OCTOBER 13th! But, in order to be one of the lucky few who get to visit you’ve gotta apply for tickets NOW!
As most diehard horror fans know, the original Friday 13th was actually filmed at a real-life camp in New Jersey, Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco which is still an active Boy Scouts camp. And normally, as in all the time, the campground is off-limits to gawkers, sightseers and horror aficionados…except on rare, super special occasions.
We’re really excited to tell you that the fourth public tour of Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco for Friday the 13th fans will take place on Friday, October 13th, 2017!
Here are some details:
As with past tours, the number of tickets will be very limited. Every tour attendee needs a ticket – no exceptions. No tickets will be available at the gate on the day of the tour.
Tickets will be announced in two groups:
Group 1) To show our appreciation for our most dedicated fans, the first group of tickets will be announced via email to anyone that has made a minimum $50 souvenir purchase in our online shop between January 1st, 2017 and 7am the day the tickets go on sale. ($50 minimum not including shipping).
Group 2) After that, the remainder of the tickets will be announced to our general mailing list.
You can join the mailing list here. Please note that tour announcements will only be made on the mailing list and will not be posted anywhere else.
Tickets will go on sale during the week of August 28th, 2017. They will be for sale immediately after the announcement email is sent.
Visiting television and movie locations is a special treat for fans and Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco is no exception. It’s a coveted destination by horror fans, who are passionate about recreating their favorite moments from the iconic films that they watched growing up.
However, Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco states on their official website that the event is a movie location tour and “not some sort of haunted mansion ride.”
While this is disappointing, many visitors who have taken part in the tour have left glowing written reviews, describing it as “unforgettable,”, a “great, magical time.” and “easily the best day of my life next to my son being born.”
I visited Blairstown, New Jersey from “Friday the 13th” in search of Jason…what I found was so much more
