“Stone Street Studios sits at the hub of the film making community in Wellington New Zealand. The complex includes four purpose-built stages, including the massive 24,500 square foot ‘Kong’ sound stage.”

The 24,500 square foot "Kong" stage is on a par with the biggest and best sound stages in Hollywood or London. It measures 229 feet by 108 feet and is 53 feet high, comes with an air handling system, 1000KVA mains supply and a grid of catwalks for set and lighting rigs at 40 feet.

Co owned by Academy Award® winners Peter Jackson, Richard Taylor and Jamie Selkirk, set on an eight-acre site in Miramar, the Stone Street facilities were extensively used by New Line Cinema and Universal Pictures for the production of The Lord of the Rings and King Kong.

Stone Street Studios and neighboring film infrastructure Weta Workshop, Weta Digital and Park Road Post Production make an enticing "one stop shop" for overseas productions to New Zealand and provide local film-makers with facilities of international quality.
