I got lunch at Republique last week and couldn't help noticing this little ice cream window while I was there. I've been craving ice cream almost constantly for the last few months, so by the time... Read more

Republique does no wrong. And it won't do wrong with ice cream. I had the strawberry sorbet and pistachio. Both were super delicious. My father had the chocolate and apple pie, and he enjoyed it... Read more

Feeling French-y? Named after Paris's 11th arrondissement, Walter Manzke's latest boasts nouvelle bistro cooking and a long Old World wine list. Start with house-baked bread with Normandy butter or wood-oven pan drippings, then continue with tartes a l'Alsacienne, and, of course, steak frites. Finish with warm croissant bread pudding or the addictive salted caramel chocolate cake. Seat up to 30 in the stunning Spanish-style space, replete with wooden beams, stone arches and M.C. Escher-esque tiled floors. Walter Manzke's radiant new bistro may not be fully complete--a bakery-café and a more formal back dining room are set to open by January--but that hasn't kept diners from packing the house come dinnertime. We recommend you join them. Read more
