Iconic Attraction

Our Take

The combination of Art Deco architecture, vintage Americana, hot rods, Cuban influence, and overt sexiness might seem like a mishmash of vibes that wouldn’t blend together, but South Beach makes it work. Its status as a tourist attraction actually is a big part of why it's worth visiting: people come here to be seen, whether they're dressed up to be noticed, or driving a flashy car. The other good thing? There are tons of great little cafes where you can grab a seat and a snack and take in all of the people-watching. Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no denying that the neighborhood has a strong personality that you won’t soon forget.

South Beach is iconic. You really have to swing by if you're in the area. All the comments about muscle beach are SO true and you see people rollar blading/making out on the side of the road. The colors are also vibrant and wonderful.

We arrived at the South Beach around midday. The traffic jam was massive but we finally arrived. Parked the car and headed straight to the beach which I must say was overcrowded.

We sunbathed, the children sat under the umbrella, and we went swimming several times. The sand was very hot but the breeze of the sea water chilled our bodies.

Restaurants and bars are located next to the beach and you can enjoy Miami's nightlife there.

Good place to visit, but make sure you go there early otherwise you will be surrounded by a big amount of people or get stuck in the traffic jam.

I would say avoid it during spring break times, or other times that are peak. off-peak visit is a must, the scenery and ocean is fantastic.

Visited here a few times, most recently January 2016. I like South Beach, I love people-watching and walking around the neighborhood to gawk at all the beautiful Art Deco buildings. The food is pretty good if you get off the strip, but many South Beach restaurants really cater to tourists and the quality is just okay, but pretty expensive. Be warned though winter in Miami can be a little chilly, so pack accordingly.
