“The spiritual heart of Albuquerque”
For nearly 300 years, San Felipe de Neri Parish has provided a spiritual heart for Albuquerque, New Mexico. That heart is still beating strongly, offering liturgical, pastoral, and educational services to parishioners and visitors. The present church building, constructed in 1793, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
If you're lucky, you'll see a wedding procession here. I lived in ABQ for years and I never stopped loving Old Town. This church faces the square on one side while wonderful, wonderful restaurants and shops face the other sides, but don't forget to explore the other streets radiating from the square.
I didn't get a chance to go inside and/or take a tour, but the building is a beautiful centerpiece to Old Town, Albuquerque.
The church was beautiful, they had it done up for Christmas when we went. The church is a solid 20 min stop not to far off the highway. There is also restaurants and small stores in the same little square. It is maybe one block squared with a beautiful gazebo in the center. It’s a great place to stretch your legs, walk the dog, and do a little shopping.
