“As seen in Cars”
Tower Station and the U-Drop Inn were built in 1936 in the sleepy little town of Shamrock Texas along Rt. 66.
Supposedly inspired by the imagery of a nail stuck in the dirt, the building has become a Route 66 icon despite falling into disrepair for a brief time.
Today it serves as a visitor center and great place for photo ops.
The revived U-Drop Inn was featured in the 2006 animated film Cars as the inspiration for the fictional Ramone's body shop.
