“Redwoods, hiking and fishing!”
Admiral William Standley State Recreation Area is at an elevation of 1,700 feet in the Coastal Range. It is located near the headwaters of the south fork of the Eel River. The park features redwoods and is a popular spot for salmon and steelhead fishing. The area is also a favorite place for hikers and picnickers.
If your road takes you towards Branscomb, California, just to let you know that there is nothing that nice or peculiar to visit, with the only exclusion probably being the Admiral William Standley State Recreation Area where you can stop by for 3-4 hours to rest, especially if you driving towards North California and enjoy some moments of relaxation.
There are some good spots for fishing and hiking while being surrounded by impressive redwoods! There are also some nice spots for picnic where you can eat, rest and continue driving!
