“Pushers of beer, wine & gourmet street food.”
Senate, the latest addition to Over-the-Rhine’s Gateway Quarter, is junk food nirvana. It’s a place where they put fried eggs on the hot dogs and sizzle the french fries in duck fat, and you just sit there with your big glass of Belgian beer and scarf it all down. Try the poutine, and their pulled pork, the hotdogs of course, and whatever daily specials they offer. So many choices, and all so tasty!
FYI vegetarians! They have a veggie dog, and it's delicious! So don't worry you wont have to sit and watch your friends eat while sneaking fries off their plates.
Just had the Lindsey Lohan and am now converted to the world of gourmet dogs. $10 for a substantial dog (not exactly a steal) and a little noisy for conversation, but really good eats.
Not crowded on a Wednesday evening ~5pm. No problems getting in and out. The fries are quite possibly their best tasting deal here, they are fantastic. But the hot dogs are the main attraction and are very tasty. The Chicago was all mustard and onion, and the trailer park is chips and slaw. Very pleased with the meal and service. On the pricier side of things, so don't expect cheap just because they are hot dogs. The bread pudding was also delicious.
Free parking is easy right next door.
If overly priced hotdogs is your thing, then this place is for you. That said, their hotdogs are pretty delicious. If you go, try to go with someone that'll pick up the tab for you!
The food is great, but good luck enjoying your $12 hot dog while a steady stream of people try and squeeze by the goddamn impossibly small seating area you get crammed into.
Generally a good lunch spot, not crazy about it as a dinner spot only because it's so crowded. The poutine and the pig tails are crazy good. Hot dogs I'm not crazy about, they sound cool but don't taste as amazing as I expect them to. I like the vibe though, overall it's a solid place with a full bar and small outdoor seating area.
Pretty pricey but the environment is really fun and hotdogs are so big you'll need a knife and fork. The fries are really out of this world. Definitely needs to be added to your OTR bucket list.
The white trash dog or trailer park dog or whatever the hell it's called is where it's at. Shit's delicious. You can't go wrong with Grippo's BBQ chips.
Poutine is all you need here. It's where I go when I want Gravy Cheese Fries from Pleasant Ridge Chili but want to spend 3x as much money.
I can't seem to make it past the appetizer menu whenever I go here. The mussels charmoula are fantastic and definitely take the waiter's advice and get an order of fries or extra toast to dip in the sauce.
