The Cibola National Forest and Grasslands are located in New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma, and are part of the Southwestern Region. The Cibola National Forest covers more than 1.6 million acres in New Mexico, with elevations ranging from 2,700 feet to over 11,300 feet. We have four ranger districts: Sandia, Mountainair, Magdalena, and Mt. Taylor. In addition, the Cibola has four wilderness areas: Sandia Mountain, Manzano Mountain, Withington, and Apache Kid.

Really nice scenic trail. It was completely covered in snow which made the trail a little difficult to follow. Recommend bringing your phone with you as a back up to stay on track.

Beautiful!! Beautiful!!! We spent hours driving up and down the mountains. Stopping and taking pics. Plenty of stopping places for picnics and restrooms. We traveled here the first week of Nov. Perfect to see the leaves changing!

Beautiful forest! There's a semicolon car tour, you drove up a mountain ~20 minute ride. There's many stops with beautiful views. It was really cloudy when we went so the views from the top wasn't as great but it was cool to be with the clouds :) The top of the mountain is pretty cold so be prepared! We also saw a lot of deer on our way up and down.
