“A nola “must do” since 1972”

The New Orleans Historic Voodoo Museum is one of the most unique, and interesting, small museums in the country. Taking all the mysteries, the secrets, the history and folklore of rituals, zombies, of gris-gris, of Voodoo Queens and all that jazz, and putting it all in one place in the heart of the New Orleans French Quarter. The Voodoo Museum is a casual and curious experience intended to preserve the legacy of New Orleans’ Voodoo history and culture while educating and entertaining the visitor. Really, no one grows up in New Orleans without Voodoo. In the case of Charles Massicot Gandolfo, the museum’s founder, this fact was all the more intensified by the tales from his grandmother that her great-grandfather had been raised in New Orleans by a Voodoo Queen. An artist, with a passion for all the history and romance of New Orleans, he created the Voodoo Museum to share his fascination with the world. The Voodoo Museum has been a fixture in New Orleans, and a “must do” for visitors since 1972.

Tiny two room collection of someone's stuff with very little information and no guide or docent offered. Not worth the price to go in the back.

The museum has a cemetery tour too but it only runs twice a day, some days only once. The museum wasn't expensive at all and was very interesting. Its small and the hallway is cramped, not the best place for claustrophobics but still very awesome, I agree that it is a 'must see.'

This place is creepy and awesome as heck, but it's beyond tiny. I consider myself a flexible person, but two rooms of stuff, as cool and well explained as it is, for $10 is nuts. You'll learn just as much about voodoo from visiting Marie Laveau's or another voodoo shop.

Don't ask to take photos though. It's a no-no.

A small and cramped place. Lots of interesting items and there was a pamphlet that helped explain things.

Two rooms and a tiny hallway. Neat stuff but would have been better if we had a guide. We only paid 5 bucks and they let the kids in free. This was the saving grace as they were bored and didn't get anything out of the visit.
