“The World's Largest Cowboy”
The World's Largest Cowboy -- a 90 ft. tall metal cutout -- lights up and moves a mechanical arm up and down.
We went to see this and didn't realize that the Historic Wendover Airfield was there (where the Enola Gay flew from to drop the bomb on Hiroshima which ended WWII)...on our return trip home we spent time at the museum which was well worth it. A HUGE part of our country's history was here and we didn't know it was there. So glad we were clued in.
His arm no longer moves :-(
Took some great photos with our new friend Wendover Will. We even made a special trip out at 10 pm to see him lit up. We thought it was cool.
Turns out my husband's great-grandfather did all the lighting on ol' Wendover Will. This is a quick photo-op stop, and is pretty impressive. Worth seeing in daylight or at night!
Easy to find and cute photo op.
Great spot to pass by if you missed the Nevada state sign!
Easily accessed and small parking area to go see it. Totally worth a picture and also close to a information center which gave us some good information. We didn't have time for the Wendover Airfield but neat that we drove by. We've viewed the Enola Gay at the air and space museum so that was kind of neat.
I would recommend going to see Wendover Will if you are going to be in the area, but I probably wouldn't make a special trip just to see him. We stopped in Wendover to get gas, so we decided to stop for a visit with Will. It was a fun photo op, no need to get out of the car. Super easy to find because you can see him from the main road.
We went during the day so of course he wasn't lit up. He no longer waves, but it was something fun and interesting to take a photo of.
