“for the love of meat”
A six-course prix-fixe restaurant in NE Portland, Oregon. As the name implies- we are frank in our appreciation of meat. Our food is simple, refined, and-dare we say- feminine. We let our moods and our sensual appreciation of what the fields, forests and oceans are yielding dictate our weekly menus. We are inspired by French Grandmothers, but our days are spent prepping to the sounds of our favorite rock-n-roll bands- we work just like we would in our home kitchens, and as our guests- we hope you can tell, and that our ease translates to your comfort and enjoyment. Please call ahead for a reservation.
You need a reservation and the menu changes about every two weeks. It’s expensive but it’s an experience. Get here early and snag one of the two tops outside. And have at least one person do the wine pairing. For some courses, the crafted the dish around the wines, so it’s an integral part of the meal.
Beast offers a six-course prix-fixe dinner five nights a week and a four-course prix-fixe brunch every Sunday. They change their offerings every Wednesday and the menu remains the same through Sunday. You can view the dinner menu for the week starting Tuesday afternoons. Their brunch changes weekly and is determined by what's available at the market on Saturday. Please feel free to call the restaurant directly with specific questions.
Naomi Pomeroy has landed on a genius concept and is unbending in her commitment to it. Each night Beast is open, there are two seatings. Everyone sits at once and is served the same six-course prix fixe, which changes weekly. It works, in no small part because of Pomeroy's uncompromising vision and bold dishes.
