Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on November 02, 2023Clean campground right off the 5 freeway. Very nice bathrooms and showers(which are free to use to campers). Playground, horse shoe pits, and pool very nice to have right there to use. The owners are very friendly and can help you if you are not familiar with the area.

This campground is a former KOA right off of I-5. It is easy to get to and can handle big rigs (just watch for tree limbs). The price we paid was for 50 amps and water.
The owners are nice people and were out and about working on the place. It appears they are making improvements. There are tent sites, RV sites, and camping cabins.
All the sites are gravel surrounded by grass set within a grove of large pine and oak trees. The noise from I-5 was very present 24x7. There are a number of full time residents in the park.
We didn't use any of the facilities since we are self contained, so I can't address those.
There is a very tame deer wandering throughout the campground. It approached me on my way dispose of garbage and started sniffing my garbage bag. That was a first!
The campground WiFi existed, but was slow at 1.5 Mbps down. Verizon barely worked for us. My jetpack showed two bars but couldn't get any real connection. My phone did better, picking up voice calls with 1 bar. Verizon may work better in other parts of the campground. We ended up using our ATT hotspot with 3 bars and 5 Mbps down for internet.
Surprisingly, you can get some over the air television, specifically PBS and ABC out of Medford.
For us at least, I wouldn't say this campground a "destination." It is good for an overnight stay if passing through. In our case we needed a few days to get some work done, so it suited us for that. If you are visiting Grants Pass, this could be a home base.
Grants Pass is worth a visit. This quirky town is 12 miles away and has a cute downtown area.

We had a birthday there this week and none of our guests (all natives as well) hadn’t either, so when I tell you I hesitate to leave a review for fear that it will become more popular, I mean it – I have mixed feelings about promoting it, but the owners of SV Campground deserve to be put on a pedestal, so here goes.
From my first inquiry call, I knew things were different. I was searching for a place that I could bring a bunch of kids camping and also invite a ton of guests for a party. I told them that right away and instead of the panicked or evasive response I had gotten elsewhere, I got a, “Great! We are here until 8 every day. Come check it out!”
When we arrived to tour the grounds, Brad pointed us toward a pavilion that looked like something on the front of a magazine with oversized raw pine pillars with exposed steel hardware, strung with Edison lights. He had built it himself with trees from the property and offered it to us free of charge to host our guests for a party. Our first impression of the owners, Brad and Chris, and their property stayed true through our entire visit and our stay the following week. I was more impressed every moment I was there.
Perfect 10 highlights:
Family friendly – Something out of a movie. Nostalgic. This place embodied what is missing in our world today. There were some good guidelines such as pool closing at dark, kids under 14 needing to be with an adult in game room, etc., but I was allowed to be parent. I saw the owners working all day every day. I worried that my kids were too rowdy, but they just gave hi-fives. I worried our party was too loud, but they said, “Happy Birthday. I hope you are having the best party every!” On the contrary, if I had been there with friends to party and be wild, I surely would have met a different side of Brad and Chris. They were not prudes, by any stretch; they just made it clear this was a place for families.
Cleanliness – Every area was perfectly clean. Spotless campsites. The bathrooms were hands-down the nicest and cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen at a campground. They had a ton of people working to keep the property beautiful, not manicured, just perfectly clean – just the way I like it. The cabins and wagons were unbelievable clean – they smelled wonderful and felt so good to be in.
Amenities – Such attention to detail! Tent and RV sites, cabins (log cabins with twin bunks, a double bed, table, electric, and a porch swing), covered wagons (with enormous king beds and twin bunks, electric, fans and heaters, and a table), all with picnic tables and fire rings. A pool, a store, book exchange, DVD rentals, horseshoe, volleyball, crocket, playground, game room (air hockey, pool, foosball), board games, dog park, bathrooms (gorgeous) with showers, laundry, propane, water/electric hook ups, dump site, dishwashing station and a group meeting area (ALL FREE OTHER THAN COIN-OP LAUNDRY AND THE DVD’S WHICH ARE $1!!). It was everything we love about going to a resort, but in a campground!
Generosity – Offering such an unbelievable experience, Chris and Brad could charge a lot more, but the prices are extremely low. And then, all of the fun is free! The things that did come with a price tag were very inexpensive (example: in the store, we bought birthday candles for $1.25 and ice for $2.50 – same or lower price than the grocery store). They charged no fee for pets or anything else we used. They regularly play movies at the pavilion on the outdoor movie screen for all guests, but offered to play one specially on a Tuesday for the birthday celebration as well. It was so much fun (with popcorn for $0.50)! They let us use chairs and tables for the party, a water bucket for the fire, crocket and badminton supplies as much as we wanted with no fee, not even a waiver. They treated us like family.
Atmosphere – Tall shade trees, light breeze, children laughing. Even though it was quite close to the freeway, the noise was barely noticeable and the trees made it feel as though we were in the high mountains. Especially in this time in history where everything feels out of wack, this place felt good, in every sense of the word. They just got everything right.

Stopped on the way south from WA to CA, looking to try someplace new. Our gravel site with 30amp electric and water was very level with a nice picnic table and fire ring. Sites are spaced a bit wider than most RV parks. The shower/restroom was nicely laid out and spotless. Mature oaks and evergreens provide shade over most sites. The hosts were pleasant and run a small store as well. Noise from the nearby I5 highway (~100 yards) was muffled by the trees but still audible -- not too bad. Sunny Valley is a lovely spot. Give this RV park a try -- you won't regret it.
Phone service on Verizon was poor, but the WiFi was the best I've ever had at any campground -- we were streaming video all evening with almost no interruptions.

Great spot for a stop over or an extended stay. A bit shady on many of at Sites so don’t plan on much sun. Unless you know the place. We stayed at site 17 and it had good afternoon sun
Hosts and everybody there are super friendly we had a great experience. I would highly recommend
Only downside is minimal cell reception. They do have Wi-Fi but it’s also not the best

We stayed for just one night as we needed to take a break on a long I5 drive. The campground was neat and tidy, well shaded and the facilities well kept and clean. The store had useful groceries and camping paraphernalia, and friendly staff. We didn’t use the pool but saw others enjoying it. There was some noise from the freeway, but that’s ok when you consider the convenience of the location for an en route stopover. We’d visit again as a convenient place to break the OR to CA road-trip.

Great small activities for the kids and family. Safe and quiet spot close to I-5 but no freeway sound! We stopped here overnight and it was a perfect break amongst the trees. Lots of trees but enough space for our 33’ trailer to maneuver around. Bonus little sweet kitten that lives in the store! We will be back. :)

Made a reservation online while en route and followed instructions to call and let them know we’d be arriving after hours. They hadn’t received our reservation and it turned out the camp isn’t officially open for the season yet (we stayed mid March) but they were really friendly and accommodating. They told us how to access in a roundabout way, which was easy enough to follow but there’s no way we would’ve figured it out if we hadn’t called first. I told them which site I’d reserved (20amp PT) and they offered 2 alternates due to construction happening in the park and said we could park wherever and to make ourselves at home. We basically upgraded our site for free (50amp)! The only drawbacks were arriving at night to a muddy camp with construction zones that were a bit difficult to see and navigate. The women’s bathroom was clean enough - it looked like it had recently been upgraded but as affordably as possible and wasn’t quite done being updated. I’d love to come back when the weather is nicer and the construction is done because it seems like there’s a lot of potential for it to be an awesome spot to camp for a few days.
