“a 12-acre fantasy garden”
Kids love Glenwood Garden's 12-acre Highfield Discovery Garden. Features include a 25-foot tall Discovery Tree, Garden Workshop, butterfly garden, vegetable garden and daily nature programs. Beautifully landscaped with paved and nature trails, formal gardens, prairies, forests and wetlands. Glenwood Gardens is a great escape from the daily grind. The previous owners of the property called it "Cotswold" named for its resemblance to the rolling pasture land in Cotswold England. One look from the Cotswold Overlook and at the Cotswold Visitor Center and you will understand why it was named. As the former residence to the property owners, the house now offers park guests a place stop and shop for unique nature gifts at Nature's Niche Gifts & Books. It also serves as the main entrance to the children's garden, Highfield Discovery Garden. Highfield Discovery Garden, located inside Glenwood Gardens, features 12 acres of fabulous gardens perfect for the young and young at heart to explore. Enter the garden to encounter frogs, fairies, a sleeping dragon, miniature trains and beautiful plants. During your visit, you can bounce across a bridge, climb a 25-foot tall play tree or join the naturalist for a daily nature programs conducted in the garden workshop. This beautifully landscaped park includes a 1.0-mile paved trail and the 1.6-mile Wetland Loop nature trail (skates, scooters and bikes prohibited) and formal gardens, prairies, forests and wetlands. The gift shop offers a variety of nature-related merchandise. The Gardenview Room may be reserved for small group events. Open daily, dawn to dusk.
WoWzers! What a neat little find. Can't believe I've never found this little gem of a location. Ok when we pulled in the place sits on 200 plus walking acres that are beautiful and miles of rolling walking trails. Although the little gem for your children will be amazing. In the main gift area you buy your tickets of 5$ for adults and 4$ for children and then you enter the kids arena from a wobbly wood bridge to a huge outdoor train set, a 25 foot high playground tree and all your favorite storybook characters all over. Oh I forgot to mention the cool pond and the while place has learning stations and a learning facilitator to assist. Again wow. How have I missed such a cool park. Our 5 year old flat loved it. Next time on the long walking paths were taking the dogs out for some walking
An awesome little park filled with storybook characters, a crazy-cool tree house playground, and even a train! Might not be so much fun for adults, but if you have kids, they'll go nuts here.
You have to pay to get into the park $15 then you have to pay again to enter the children’s area $5 each person. The garden that is included with parking is ok. There are bathrooms.
Great place for kids to use their imaginations . Fairy Houses , mushrooms 🍄, and a a wise tree house . This is in a larger park full of great trails and lots of beautifully cared for grounds . During the summer Glenwood offers educational classes with activities for all ages . Worth a stop on a road trip through Cincinnati . If your local worth getting a membership if you have nature and whimsy loving children .
Stopping back a second time on the way back!!! Such a great place to walk, or even just hang out !!
This place has an amazing little childrens adventure garden, an outdoor train set that runs all through trees and up and around you. The main attraction here for the little ones has to be the "discovery tree" which is basically a giant climbing/play area all inside and built around some kind of magical tree thing they built. You have to see it to believe it, and little kids will go nuts on it.
