Stayed for 2 nites in March, 2020. Had some snow and then a cold rain for most of the two days here, but with the electric hookup in our pull thru, we were warm and cozy. Guessing that the time of year and weather kept most all the campers away.
As mentioned here, the access road is a bit dicey at times, but not too bad. Access is easy, right off of Interstate 35. Road noise was not an issue in this park. It was quiet and the loop we were in (#2) had a great setting. Too wet to partake, but it looked like there could be some good hiking here as well as lake activities.
We were just passing through the area, but were happy to have found this park. Would stay again for sure.

Wallace State Park is close to I-35 but a world away. The dense trees and brush provide a good amount of sound dampening. The sites in campground 2 are big and spaced nicely. Tons of green space between you and your neighbor. The shower house and bathrooms are clean and very nice. One word of caution - while walking the dogs we noticed site 48 has a steep grade at the entrance and it’s washed out where the pavement ends and the gravel site begins, making for a drop off of a couple inches.

Arrived Wednesday 7/7. Beautiful campground! Lots of space between sites! Less than half full. Clean bathrooms with showers. Bugs and mosquitoes came out when the rain stopped.

We were in a back on site 70 electric only. Plenty of room between sites. Showers were quite a distance from campsite but were clean and plenty of hot water. Pit toilet at campsite was very clean. Camp host led us to our site. Would definitely stay here again.

Be aware as other reviews have said you can get right in here and they are not full. We tried to get in on September 25 and they were packed. It is a long twisty road off of the interstate 35 to get there and tough if you were in a big rig to get turned around and get out. Just a warning.

This state park is one of the prettiest places you can stay. It has greats RV spaces that are paved and easy to get in and out. There are well worn trails in the woods and to the lake that are wonderful for walking or taking the dog out for exercise. The park is in the country and offers peaceful nights but not too far from the town of Cameron should you need anything. There is power and sewer and you can tap into a nearby water bib to fill your onboard water tank.
We loved our stay at Wallace State Park and hope to one day visit again for an extended stay.

Wallace State Park is very close to I-35. The gate is locked at 9:00pm - "Campers need to be sure to arrive prior to gate closure time.". Spots in Campground #2 (#41 - #62) are al electric, some are paved pull through, and check-In, Rest Rooms / Shower House, Wood Lot, Dump Station and Hosts are adjacent. Restrooms and shower very clean. Check In was easy and Hosts were friendly and knowledgeable. Campground is picturesque. If we're passing' through and need a place for the night, we'll definitely stop again.
