“Central Sarasota's gateway to the Gulf”

In 2011, Siesta Beach was rated as the #1 beach in the United States by "Dr. Beach", a.k.a. Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman, director of Florida International University's highly respected Laboratory for Coastal Research. In 2004 the Travel Channel named it "The Best Sand Beach in America" because of its 99% pure quartz sand that stays cool under your feet. Siesta Key beach offers tennis and volleyball courts, shaded playground and picnic area, and convenient concession stands for a quick bite or a refreshing drink. Its shallow water near the shoreline and year-round lifeguard protection make it a great beach for the whole family. You can even borrow beach wheelchairs if you have visitor that needs help across the sand. Whether you enjoy playing tennis or volleyball, fishing or boating, or a Drum Circle on Sunday evening to mark the end of another perfect weekend on Siesta Key, there's always something to do on Siesta Beach and it is all within walking distance of the many shops and restaurants on Siesta Key Village.

I've been to a lot of beaches in my day, and I've got to say this is still one of the most beautiful I've been to. The white sand is stunning, there's tons of sand which means there's a lot of places to sit even when it gets crowded, and it's especially nice for stargazing.

Siesta Beach is no doubt one of the best beaches! Beautiful sea, great light blue crystal colors at the sea's clean water.

The coastline is massive and you can walk with your feet soaking at the waterfront while the sun warms your body straight ahead!!

If you get hungry, just walk 5 minutes to the restaurants located next to the beach like we did!

Next time we visit, no doubt we are booking a room at the beautiful bungalows which are located right on the beach!

This place is just so incredible. The water is crystal clear and the sands are fine. The whole place is clean and well maintained. Perfect for a relaxing walk. I would recommend families to go here for a nice day out. You can bring picnic mats and food baskets with you as you can enjoy a relaxing lunch in front of the magnificent waters.

It is a beautiful beach and one to visit! It is also a trek to cross all the lovely white sand to the water. When we visited it was hard packed sand good for wide wheeled rolling carts or coolers and only near the water did you hit softer sand. Spring break time it is very busy of course but that doesn't mean your experience on the beach itself will suffer. Just be prepared for the long traffic lines across the drawbridge, the expensive food nearby (not fast food), and the debris left behind by all those people. Even though this is a very clean beach you will still find beer bottles, plastic bags, and swifter towels(?!) along the water break. Wildlife nearby and some nice shells to pick up too if that's your thing. 4/5 would go again!

The most beautiful beach you can find. Consider yourself lucky if you get a chance to see it in person
