“in the furniture capital of the world”

Known as the Bureau of Information in 1926, this restored, beautiful, 19th-century dresser is the “World’s Largest Chest of Drawers.” Standing 32 feet high, it was built to call attention to High Point as the Furniture Capital of the World.

It's a neat thing to see but there is no information about it or anything outside of it. Makes for a fun picture and a two minute stop.

Very cool! Well kept up although there is a sign to 'save' it. Nice clean college-y town! Good photo op! :-)

Pretty neat! It looks to actually be a home or office of some kind. It also seems to be in trouble if being torn down.

Apparently they update the paint from time to time to keep it nice. Great quick stop for a few funny photos. I do suggest going a little out of your way to see it.

Really cool stop. The only downside is parking.

Living in High Point we see this all the time. It is an office space. It is fun to see and they do repaint the socks once in a while. The Giant High Boy is located at Furniture Land South the largest retailer of home furnishings. Fun to be in the Furniture Capital of the World and we have many international visitors during the Furniture Market.

This is a fun quick stop. We got a couple of photos and then moved on quickly. We planned it so we could get dinner close by. I wouldn't make a special trip just to see it but if it's on your way and you need a quick leg stretch then it's neat.

It was a goofy quick photo stop. No signage or explanation present. Cute though.

Fun stop, bigger than expected. Don't miss the big Highboy down the road in Jamestown
