“Once a revolutionary, always a revolutionary!”
Dock Street Brewing Company was founded in Philadelphia in 1985. Being the first microbrewery in the City of Brotherly Love and one of the first in the country, Dock Street was and continues to be a leading pioneer in the American Microbrew Revolution. We are constantly striving for innovation and pushing the boundaries of the craft brewing movement. As such, our artisanal beers have been the recipients of many major awards including Great American Beer Fest Silver Medal for La Biere des Amis (Dock Street/ Thiriez Saison) for Session Beer, Great American BeerFest Bronze Medal for ABT 12 (Belgian Style Abbey), World Beer Cup Bronze for Prisoner of Hell, International Gold Medal for both our Amber Beer and the acclaimed Bohemian Pilsner. Dock Street takes great pride in our rich brewing history and we are committed to our reputation for remarkable quality in our food and the atmosphere we create. The name Dock Street itself embodies the American Mystique and serves the independent thinking consumer. This is why we find ourselves right at home in West Philadelphia’s Cedar Park neighborhood in a magnificent historic firehouse on the corner of 50th & Baltimore Avenue. The neighborhood stays true to Dock Street’s bohemian philosophy with its progressive and eclectic counterculture and a mixture of race, creed and background. The community has embraced us ten fold and in return Dock Street continues to feed the masses with our craft brews and delectable fare. Dock Street’s beers can also be found at various pubs and restaurants throughout the city. We are at the forefront of the craft-brewing renaissance and remain in constant pursuit of hoppiness.
Most breweries take themselves a little too seriously, but not Dock Street. They even celebrated last season's Walking Dead by brewing a beer with goat brains in it. Seriously. Brains. Place is awesome. Read more
