“a natural waterpark!”

The Mad River harbors a collection of first-class swimming holes, including an absolute favorite in Vermont, Warren Falls. The pools below the falls are spacious and full of clear green-tinted water. Cliff jumping is a true past-time here, and you would be hard-pressed to find a safer spot to partake in this activity. Of course, this sport always carries a high degree of risk, so use caution if you decide to join the conga-line of jumpers. The falls themselves, a series of several small plunges, are not particularly exciting and, as a result, are mostly overshadowed by the allure of the pools. Guidebooks often make no mention of Warren Falls or its pools because it only recently surfaced in our research. Although it is certainly not a private or secluded place, the falls would likely be exponentially more popular if there was actually sign on the highway indicating its location. Despite the crowds that are still likely to be here on weekends, there is always enough room for all to savor this jewel of an attraction. A natural waterpark, the Warren Falls is fun for all ages.   With pools of crystal clear water ranging in depth from 1 to 10 feet, the Falls are a local summertime tradition that no one should miss.  Prehistoric boulders serve as diving platforms at heights for everyone to enjoy. From the intersection of Route 100 and Route 17 travel south on Route 100 for approximately 8 miles.  Parking along right side of Route 100 in front of Forest Service access gate.  Follow path around gate and down to the base of the falls.

YES YES YES! You have to do this! When we went in mid June 2018 the water was a chilly 45 degrees, but a once in a lifetime experience for sure. Water is clear and gorgeous. I did the smaller 15 foot jump and it doesn't look daunting until you are standing up there. Water is SUPER deep where you jump in. First time I didn't even touch bottom, second time I tried to touch the bottom and I just barely got it with my toe. I'd estimate 15 feet deep. I'd recommend bug spray, my legs got bit up on the way back to the parking lot through a beautiful wooded area with a path. There is a higher 30 foot jump for those more daring, and we found a small 2 foot area for our youngest to jump in to feel like he got to experience it too!
