“it's like Jesus walked in Mississippi”

Located fifteen miles north of Lucedale, Mississippi, and open since 1960, Palestine Gardens provides a miniature Replica of the Holy Land where Jesus walked. A one yard / one mile scaled model of the Promised Land gives an authentic geographical representation of the time and place of the greatest story ever told! After crossing the river Jordan, see the lowest point on the earth, the Dead Sea. Stroll past Bethlehem and Jerusalem as you journey to Caesarea Philippi. You will enjoy seeing many other biblical sites as you follow in Jesus' footsteps in a peaceful and serene garden setting. Guided tours help make the Bible come alive as Old and New Testament narratives are recited. See the cities, mountains, and valleys where the events took place. Visitors leave with a better understanding of the land and times that have and continue to impact mankind.Truly a unique experience complemented by tall pines, flowers, bamboo, birds, turtles, and other wildlife.

from ms but first time to see. stopped by on our way to Destin. the ground were a beautiful place to walk around. even if you aren't religious, you can still appreciate the artistry and dedication put into it. it is quite extensive and impressive. they offered a free your but we didn't knock. might stop back by and ask for one.

stopped by on our way to Destin. it was pretty interesting. it was was very extensive. You could tell a lot of work has been pour into it and it looked like more was being constructed. even if you aren't religious, the ground are a beautiful place to walk around and any artist can appreciate the replica.

We were so excited to see this but after driving all the way in, we saw the sign that said it was closed temporarily 😭. We will have to try again on our next road trip through.

Wow. Walking through this garden, I was struck by the amount of dedication it must have taken to achieve. I was also fascinated by the tour guide and his knowledge of history and etymology. Definitely worth checking out.

Worth the short side trip!
Don took me on a quick tour as I was short on time. He is very knowledgable and friendly and a very interesting person.

The posted info says no restrooms but there are some there.

Even if you are not religious, the peaceful walk and surroundings are a nice change of pace. There is a donation box but he never even mentioned money.

Stopped by to check this out and was pleasantly surprised NOTE- They are only open from March to November. This was an awesome place to visit and I'll be back in the spring to see it when the leaves are gone and the rivers are flowing. The grounds crew have built a very cool nature walk which tells the story of Jesus and the Bible very well. This attraction is in the middle of nowhere, but totally worth the trip.

Another note..... for those that are not from the south or the area, when you pass the locals on the two lane road, the locals will wave at you when you pass. Make sure you wave back. It's a part of the southern hospitality we hear so much about.
