“Magical week & precious memories for 4 generations!”
Sandpiper was a key part in our amazing Jekyll Island/Cumberland Island trip. We stayed for a week and every one of our 17 family members left wishing we didn't have to. Sandpiper was even better than the pictures and surpassed our every expectation. The short stroll to the beach was an adventure for the kids every time we made it, as part of the path travels through a canopied area that feels like a you're in another world. I cannot imagine a more perfect location! We saw dolphins swimming just off shore just about every time we were at the beach. We found handfuls of perfect sand dollars and took great care in packaging them to get them home. We took the ferry to Cumberland Island and spent the day in the most amazing place! We experienced St. Andrews beach at sunset, thoroughly enjoyed the sunset dolphin tour, were amazed at Driftwood Beach, took a guided fishing trip, visited the Jekyll Fishing Pier, loved Jekyll Wharf, and were totally enchanted with the recuperating sea turtles we saw at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. We washed our shells in the convenient area with hose and shelves outside, toured the island on the bikes so kindly provided in the garage, played cornhole in the back yard, and the beach toys, umbrellas and chairs were much appreciated. Sandpiper made our stay perfect. We cooked lots of meals together, celebrated a birthday, had a gender reveal, and a new bride-to-be asked all her cousins to be bridesmaids in this wonderful home. The minute you step into Sandpiper, you feel like you are at home. The beds are so comfortable & the screened in porch is heavenly (soundproof from the rest of the home and you are so close to the ocean you can just sit out there and read a book and listed to the waves crashing on shore). We have such fond memories of our stay on Jekyll Island, and we thank Lara from the bottom of our heart for sharing her wonderful home.
