“For the beer lovers on the east side”
All the beers brewed at Fifty West Brewing Company have been hand made in small batches with a focus on craftsmanship, tradition, innovation, and patience. There are several reasons why we selected the name ‘Fifty West’; the most obvious being the fact that our brewery is located on Route 50, which extends from Coast to Coast- it spans more than 3,000 miles starting in Maryland and stretching all the way to California. The brewery is located in a building that has a vast and varied transient history from the settlers heading west through the Ohio River valley, to the days of Prohibition when our building was a favorite of George Remus and the bootleggers running whiskey from Cincinnati to Chicago, to where we are today—amidst a renaissance of the craft beer movement. To us, it’s not about the destination, but instead making sure we are enjoying the journey, appreciating the moment, and brewing beers that are enjoyed by anyone who is willing to let us become a part of their journey.
This review is for the brewpub in the white house across from the volleyball place. RUN, DO NOT WALK. This place is phenomenal. Just please go and thank me later. Read more
THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE BREWERY IN THE WHITE CLAPBOARD BUILDING! . . Just want to be clear because I can only seem to find the sand volleyball place on Yelp. Here's my review of the Brewery IN THE... Read more
A visit to 50W is always a good idea. My husband and I have been here a few times, and we always appreciate the fun, beachy atmosphere. This is a great spot to meet up with friends and bring a few... Read more
50W has a rustic atmosphere and serves a variety of craft brews as well as amazing food. Make a point to try their Sunday Brunch, it's unreal. If you're undecided with which beer to try first, go with the Coast-to-Coast IPA to give your taste buds a kick. Read more
Their beer is okay, but the food looked good and their patio is gorgeous! They have an old VW bus that you can sit in. Read more
I love 50 West - it doesn't pull the same crowd as places downtown but it's often just as packed. Their food is pretty good and they have a bunch of beers which I love, my favorites being Coffee Please and Wire to Wire. There's a nice patio area outside and my favorite is the shuffleboard table in the back room. Perfect place to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon drinking good beer and having a shuffleboard tournament with a few friends. Read more
The beer keeps growing on us. Here are some thoughts from our first visit: http://www.diveswithoutwives.com/2013/02/22/50-west-brewing-company-our-first-visit/ Read more
This place is the perfect place in the spring and summer to escape downtown. They bring in bluegrass bands and host killer parties. They've got pretty good food, too. There's outdoor and indoor seating. Great place to hang out with friends. Read more
Don't make the mistake of thinking this is a bar, because it's really more of a restaurant. I went shortly after they opened and didn't have a great experience (no flights, out of several beers, no pretzels, etc., etc.) but I went back again. I felt awkward going there just to get a beer as opposed to having dinner. Except for the patio and the bar (which were nice but crowded) there wasn't space for people who just wanted a drink. Unless you want a whole meal you're probably better off finding their beer at another bar, because the beer is pretty good (not a huge variety though). Read more
