“Entertaining and Educating”
Pensacola Little Theatre is one of "the oldest continually-producing community theatre in the Southeastern United States." PLT formed in 1936, as part of the WPA project to revitalize the country after the Great Depression. From a handful of shows in 1936, the theatre has continued to expand its offerings and now puts on 17 or more productions every year, ranging from Broadway musicals to classic dramas to original plays by local authors. Aside from the small management and office staff, everyone who works at PLT is a volunteer. None of the actors and crew members get paid for the weeks of work they put in to bring a show to the stage.
