Three Rivers Petroglyph Site

NOT PET FRIENDLY!
I didn’t actually get to see this place, because I was traveling with my dog. There are posted signs everywhere stating that dogs are not allowed on the trail, but since this website says its pet friendly I didn’t know that until I drove all the way out there and signed in at the register.

We loved this site. Very enjoyable. Plan for about a two hour visit.

We very much enjoyed this site. It was a somewhat challenge to climb, for an older adult, but doable and definitely worth it. Plan for a couple hours and bring water in the hot months. Awesome place to visit if petroglyphs interest you.

We were there on a recent weekday and were the only people, aside from the nice man who welcomed us. The hike up the main ridge was somewhat challenging for those of us of aging bones and lungs, but we made it. The petroglyphs are everywhere; see some on one side of a rock, then go around to the backside and there are more. I think sunset would be pretty neat here, and good opportunities for night-sky photography if you camp. A tip: we looked for the specific address on Google and it routed us to a nice family's backyard tomato patch. Just head north out of Tularosa and look for the familiar brown National Park signs. And take water!

Love the petroglyphs and loved the hike!! If your a fan of the outdoors and beautiful scenery, you will love this place!!

They have tent and RV spots available, however only 2 RV spots and both are pull thru. I spent about 3 hours traversing the rocky hills and taking photographs. It was pretty neat although there has been some modern day art added as well. :( The site is very clean and well kept. The hostess was extremely helpful and nice. It was a pleasant surprise to see such a nice looking campground area. Also the skies are pretty dark when the moon is not around. I would definitely recommend to anyone who would be interested.
