Town & Gown Guesthouse

Why stay in a hotel, when you can have the same amenities in a two-bedroom, two-story, home? Built in 1929, our 'Town & Gown Guesthouse' is the recently-updated end unit in a row of 8 connected cottages (think San Francisco, think London): as charming and as centrally-located as you can get!  Everything is within walking distance: 1-4 blocks to a wide range of dine-in/take-out eateries (including vegetarian and vegan), breakfast and coffee shops, Euphoria Chocolate Company, and Newman's fresh fish market; 2 blocks to a playground; 4 short blocks to a large Safeway and Walgreen’s; 6 short blocks to the beautiful, new public library, a natural/organic grocery and wine shop, many downtown restaurants, and the central bus station. You’re equidistant (less than 1 mile) from Eugene’s Performing Arts (Hult) Center and the UO campus.  Or take the bus! Route #36 (to downtown) stops 1/2 block from our door. Going to the new Matt Knight arena? Transfer downtown to the new EmX. How about the UO? Bus 78 is just two blocks away.  We also have off-street, covered parking for guests with cars.  Sleeping arrangements upstairs: two bedrooms with queen beds. Downstairs: a new Ashley queen sofa sleeper. We provide organic sheets, pillowcases, and blankets, plush towels, and down comforters. Enjoy our beautiful, full kitchen with new stainless appliances, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, blender, and service for 6. A high-end (Bosch) washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, and biodegradable cleaning products are available for your use, as well as a high chair for your little one. Eat in the dining room, or outside, in our brick-paved, private patio and herb garden: mint, rosemary, and sweet woodruff for cooking or for tea (just add boiling water). Smell the roses: pick some for indoors, if you wish. Bring the baby outside, too, in the portable play-yard/crib. Musicians take note: we provide a beautiful, old Hinze upright piano, well-tuned!
