My stay here was before tourist season, mid April, so it was pretty quiet on a Friday night. There are long term places here, but everything is kept nice and tidy. I had full hookups at this site. Every one I passed greeted me.

The staff were all very friendly.

There is no cell reception (even though all coverage maps says there is), but for $5.00 you can get access to their HughesNet satellite Wi-Fi which works pretty dang good! I asked if that was per night or entire stay, and she said she was pretty sure it was for the entire stay, but I would double check on that one. I guess they get charged per data, so they ask for something to help pay for it. Since the site was only 34/night for FHU, I was OK with paying 5.00 for Wifi.

I with held a star because they sites are not private, nor all that level. They are on grass pads, with gravel underneath. The outer sites are probably more private because they face the woods, not other sites. They also have cabins mingled in with the sites, so that actually helps a bit with privacy. The location is great though. You are nestled in a bit of a flat spot amongst all of the mountains. Beautiful. You are right off the highway, so there is that noise, but I am sure at night that dies down a lot.

There are no laundry or public restrooms here. You are on you own for that.

There are a ton of waterfalls in the area, and you are 1 hour away from Crater Lake National Park.

This is a really beautiful spot, surrounded by old-growth evergreens on the beautiful Umpqua River. It is a little bit remote -- 50 miles from Roseburg, 20 miles from the nearest market, and about 10 miles from the nearest restaurant, which is closed in winter -- so not for people who want shopping and nightlife. It's set in an open meadow in the middle of a beautiful gorge, surrounded by spectacular forests. Easy access to some amazing hikes, waterfalls, hot springs, and you'd have a very easy day trip to the snow in upper elevations from here. Do a bit of grocery shopping on your way in, and have a wonderful few days of hiking and exploring.

The campground is charming and neat as a pin. They rent glamping tents and cabins here as well as several level, graveled sites with full hookups. There are shared bathrooms but no laundry. There is zero cell service up here (from any provider) but the campground offers access to its satellite internet for a small upcharge, which works extremely well. The staff were very attentive and friendly and went out of their way to be helpful with information and advice about sightseeing.

Beautiful park - nice sites. Great location for where we wanted to visit. We stayed for 4 nights.

On arrival day we showed up ~12:30 (it was raining and we weren’t sure how long it would take us to get there). Checkin is listed as 2:00 and unfortunately we were made to feel that this was a huge inconvenience (us showing up early). The person who checked us in was quite put-out, and when I offered to leave and come back he said he would check on our site since we were already there. From the office you could see our site was available and after a few minutes he did check us in and let us go to our site. Unfortunately it did not end there. We were traveling with friends and when they checked in he also let them know what a nuisance it was for us to have arrived early too.

His customer service put a damper on our impression of what would have otherwise been a lovely stay.
