“world's largest vertical garden!”
Bukit Timah just got a whole lot greener-- a condominium in the Singapore city has what is now officially the world's largest vertical garden. The 24-story garden occupies 2,289 square meters on the side of the building, and it's expected to save more than $500,000 in water and energy costs a year. Plus, it's got heat-reducing windows and stairs with lights activated by motion sensors to save energy! Another advantage of the garden, which was recently declared world's largest by Guinness World Records, is that the plants will filter carbon dioxide and other various pollutants out of the air, so people living in the building can breathe easy. Looking at the pictures, it's not hard to see how the condo building earned its name: it's fittingly called (what else?) theTree House. -Roadtrippers This condominium has all the modern amenities a person could want-- but the main attraction is the 2,289 square meter, 24-story vertical garden on the side of the building. Guinness World Records officially declared it the world's largest vertical garden, and it's not just green in color-- it's eco-friendly as well, saving over $500,000 in energy and water costs.
