In 1915, Peter J. Oberweis found that he had too much milk so he began selling it to neighbors. In essence, the family dairy business that now spans almost 100 years had begun.  The Oberweis family has been delivering milk to homes since 1927 when Peter bought a half partnership in the Big Woods Dairy. They're still delivering bright and early. They're still using glass bottles, because they don't think milk should taste like plastic...just milk, pure and simple. They don't believe in adding anything unnecessary to our milk either. That's why none of their farmers use the rBGH hormone on their cows.  They're still family owned and operated too. Join up for a tour and you'll get to see where they make their world-famous milk and ice cream. You'll enjoy a video presentation full of behind-the-scenes action at Oberweis Dairy including the farms where the rGBH hormone free cows live, the life of an Oberweis Milkman and how the plant operates. Finish off the tour in their Retail Store where everyone enjoys a cup of their classic vanilla ice cream! Tours must be scheduled in advance, and must include a group of at least 10 and no more than 30. Attendees must be at least 8 years old.
