The Paulding Light

No one can predict when or how a ghost is gonna appear, but if you're looking for some paranormal activity, one of your best bets is heading to Michigan to check out The Paulding Light. Almost every night, a mysterious light appears among the trees and hills of a valley just outside the small town of Paulding, Michigan. Explaination theories abound, ranging from ghosts to geological activity to gases from a swamp, but people can't seem to agree on the exact cause of the spooky floating orb. The light was first reported in 1966 by a group of teenagers who were probably doing teenager things in the forest when they saw the mysterious floating orb. The most common legend for the light's origin is that it's the lamp of a railway brakeman who was killed trying to stop a train from ramming into some railcars that were stopped on the train's tracks. Others say that it's the ghost of a murdered mailman, and still others suspect that it's the spirit of a long-dead Native American, dancing on the power lines strung throughout the valley. A 2010 episode of SyFy's show Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files couldn't find any earthly explaination for the Paulding light, but later that year, a group of students from Michigan Tech used a telescope to further investigate the phenomenon, concluding that the light was simply the headlights from cars driving on a stretch of road 5 or 6 mles away.
