Albuquerque's small but pleasant aquarium is well-curated, with exhibits designed to simulate the Rio Grande and the saltwater marshes of the Gulf of Mexico before moving on to ocean species. Among the sea creatures on display are jellyfish, seahorses, eels, and plenty of colorful reef fish, with the highlight being a huge tank at the end with sharks, sea turtles, and rays. Divers enter the big tank every day from 2-3PM to feed the fish.
GREAT stop!!! The gardens here were so much better than we expected! The walking paths through it were very well done. There were paved, gravel, and dirt trails with plants from different areas and climates. Our favorite sections were the Japanese Garden and the Fantasy Garden. The Japanese Garden was SO beautiful!!! And the Fantasy Garden was just neat and the kids had a blast going through it! Oh and the train! They had a large G-Scale train near the Fantasy Garden that was really neat! We planned an hour and a half here and ended up taking about two and a half instead, and that was with jogging through part of it because a storm was coming in! Totally worth it!
