“Enjoy the Serenity of Nature!”
Located on the Rio Grande flyway, the park offers excellent birdwatching opportunities throughout the year. There are indoor and outdoor wildlife viewing areas overlooking ponds, and trail access to the Rio Grande. For a growing number of people, birding and wildlife viewing is a great adventure. State parks are great settings to observe the unique wildlife and birds in our state. Hiking a trail is one of the best ways to get to know a park, and 22 of our 35 parks have established trail systems. Whether you are interested in an easy and quiet nature hike or if you want a more adventurous experience, hit the trail in a State Park.
Great air-conditioned mini museum with restrooms and bird watching area. Easy short hike to the river which was low enough to walk across in late July.
