“gallery and gifts”
The former Carnegie library building, built in 1911, was vacated in 1980 and later condemned by the city of Alliance. A group of fine art enthusiasts with a vision raised funds to renovate this historically significant building. Thousands of hours of volunteer work led to the Grand Opening of the Carnegie Arts Center in March of 1993. Today the building is used as a fine arts center. We have 3 separate galleries: the Skala Gallery, the Garwood Gallery and the Studio Gallery. These galleries feature 19 exhibits annually. The building is also used for numerous events and workshops. We also have the Helen O Sale Gift Gallery which features blown glass, pottery and jewelry. The Sculpture Garden is to the west of the building and was open to the public in 2001. We are a non-profit corporation that is run by a Board of Directors. We receive our funding through numerous grants and generous donations.
A beautiful, well-managed center with a variety of artists and programs maintained by an enthusiastic and friendly group of people. Read more
