“Real Haunted House”
In 2004 we opened our farm up for a daytime agri-tourism business, Manna Fields Farm. We had a Corn Maze and other attractions that included a Cow Train, Hayride, Duck Races, Pig Races, Giant Roller Slide Hay Mountain and other fun stuff. We also hosted school field trips in the Spring and in the Fall and sold pumpkins. We were struggling along and enduring Army Worms, floods, droughts, hurricanes and other setbacks but were determined to grow our business. In 2008, while on an agri-tourism tour in Pennsylvania, Rodney went on a tour of Field of Screams. Rodney had so much fun and was so impressed that he came back saying we have to do this. Shortly after, we were approached by a group that was looking for a place to hold their haunt. Rodney said if we are going to do this, we are going to do this right. So we contacted a Haunt Consultant and started making plans to turn our 1900’s farm house into a Haunted attraction that would include a Haunted Corn Maze.Up to this point, Cindy had been running the farm with the help of their children Emily, Brent and Aaron, while Rodney was at work. Rodney’s brother, Markel, was helping when he could, but he also worked off the farm. We knew this was going to take time and hard work so Rodney left his job at NRG and came home to the farm full time. Before long, Cindy’s brother, Tim Baker joined the team. We had a lot of help from our friends and the entire group pitched in to build an awesome Haunted attraction that has grown to what it is today.Currently we are not offering any daytime activities as we have been focused on growing and building Fearshire Farms. We know we wouldn’t be where we are today without our faithful friends who have volunteered to build, paint, decorate and scare. To them we are eternally grateful. As a small but growing business, we employee over 60 people during the haunt season. Our goal is to be the best haunted attraction in Texas. We offer what most haunted attractions can’t and that is Realism. The house is a real haunted house, the corn is a real corn field and the atmosphere can’t be beat. So this October, make plans to come out with your friends and family and experience the thrill of Fearshire Farms.
