“county museum that reflects past history”
Antlers Depot was once the busiest, most important building in the Antlers community. Antlers owes the railroad to the spring which also gifted the town with its name. Deer antlers were nailed to trees around the spring by proud hunters thus becoming known as Antlers Springs rather than the original name of Beaver Springs, later being shortened to Antlers. The Pushmataha County Historical Society has restored the Italianate style depot transforming it into a county museum that reflects past history of the county and a time before civil rights and racial equality.
