“crystal clear springs”

This 248-acre Orange County park is built around one of the Apopka area’s crystal clear springs. As its name suggests, Rock Springs bubbles up from a cleft in a rock outcropping and, instead of spreading out into a pool, becomes a swiftly running stream that quickly slows to a meander. The activity of choice here, and the major reason for the park’s obvious popularity, is riding down the stream in an inner tube or on a float.

Spending 5 hours at the Kelly Park Rock Springs was not enough for my two sons! Neither for me and my wife!
It was overcrowded when we arrived but this didn't let us down for a second!

We, (the elders) had our feet wet, as we could not resist those crystal clear waters calling us!!! The kids just entered the water and played with the other children already swimming!

Fantastic place..wish it could become more private!

We camped at Kelly Park for the 4th of July weekend and I expected it to be utter chaos. Surprisingly it was delightful! There are only 26 campsites and my parents and I reserved 2 by phone about two months before the trip. Sites for non-county residents are $23 a night. NO PETS and NO ALCOHOL (bring your Tervis). The bathroom size was adequate for the amount of campers and I never had to wait for a bathroom or shower stall. Great tree canopy / very shaded. We stayed at site #19 and the only complaint we had was that the water hook up was on the opposite side from the electric. This wouldn't matter for a tent camper but it does for a trailer. We had to run to Walmart (20 miles away - also Starbucks next door, score!) and get a longer drinking water hose. It rained almost every afternoon but the bugs weren't bad at all. I liked that the campers had a nice paved walkway right down to the springs; less than a 10 minute walk. At the springs there is a concession stand serving food, sunscreen, and bags of ice. There are TONS of picnic tables and large pavilions to rent. We walked from our site at 10am down to the spring and passed at least 20 picnickers already cooking on the grill! You can rent tubes outside of the park or at a van near the concession stand. We brought our own. For those not camping, the park closes at 10am and reopens at 3pm on the busy days because it gets so crowded.

A natural lazy river?! I'm in!! A natural spring here flows into a stream, which you can float down (bring a tube, as there are none available inside the park), and it only takes about 15 minutes. From there you can walk back to the spring and do it all over again, swim on the beach, or hang out in the large pond/pool where the "lazy river" portion ends. Are there fish swimming with you? Yes. Are there alligators? Occasionally. Was there a snapping turtle in there with us when we went? Yep. Does any of that matter? Nope, it was a blast!

There are other things to do here as well, as it is a large park, however this is the main attraction. There is a concession stand, and the changing rooms aren't too bad. There was even free sunscreen by the bathrooms.

It costs 3 bucks to get in, and from what I've heard gets insanely crowded, however it was not bad at all when we were there.

We came here in March 2017. It's an absolutely beautiful park and the pictures don't do the springs justice. If I lived in the area I would visit here often. Great photo opps. Peaceful place. Picnic tables available. Cost $3.

It was not crowded when we went, not sure why it wasn't packed. The water stays 68 degrees year round. I thought it was cold getting in but then was fine. A great stop to make!

Great little place to come for a swim, hike or picnic. It cost $3 for two people in a car, plus you should definitely head to concession and rent inner tubes for $5 each. Then if you head to the start of the spring (by the cave it come out of) you can cruise your way around the whole place in the current. It's amazing. There are also heaps of picnic areas large and small with grills etc. We came in March on a Thursday and it wasn't busy but I bet it gets very busy on weekends and in the summer. The water is cool so it would be a great place to cool down on a hot day.

I love this spring! You could easily spend all day here and still want to come back the next day. You can rent inner tubes or have your kids play in the playground, or picnic with one of the bbq pits, camp in the campground or just whole away the hours in the year-round, 70 degree warm water spring, with tiny fishes swimming around you. It's shallow enough for little ones to wade around and the whole area is ideal for ultimate relaxation. Just 30-40 minutes outside Disney, this is the perfect theme park escape.
