“fried pie capital of Ark-La-Tex”
It was 55 years ago that Harland Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame decided to take his original recipe for fried chicken on the road. He wanted to see if others would like it as well as his friends did back in Kentucky and felt the best way to do that was to let them taste it for themselves. As he drove from restaurant to restaurant cooking up chicken using his 11 herbs and spices, restaurant owners began to agree to buy and resell his product. The rest, as they say, is history. Bonnie and Mike Edwards have been making their homemade fried pies for years. Customers who dine at their Country Cottage in Arcadia, Louisiana, say they are the BEST they've ever tasted. Story sound familiar? So, just like Colonel Sanders did years ago, Bonnie and Mike are taking their products on the information super highway to see if they can find some new customers and hoping that, when they do, they will be customers for life!
Great place to stop by for a fried pie. I had coconut pie. They make the pie to order. It was great!
