The Lobster Trap is a locally owned restaurant dedicated to offering fresh seafood to residents and visitors of Asheville, NC. Captain Tom sends us lobsters in the morning right off his boat in Portland, ME. Our trout comes fresh from the Shining Rock Wilderness area of Pisgah National Forest. My name is Amy Beard and I am the founder of The Lobster Trap. I grew up working on the docks of Portland, Maine with Captain Tom. In the morning I would steam and shuck lobsters for the local restaurants. In the afternoon I hauled in the daily catch from the lobster fishermen.
