“Eat like a Cat”
Best little diner/brunchy-breakfasty place in town! If you meet the owner you will meet one of the highest-energy, coolest guys on the planet.
He's got vision and heart and soul and adds to the Candler Park community!
EVERY single time I visit Atlanta I eat here. Yes - you will wait. Yes it more than worth it. Yes - you have not lived until you go here. And - no you will never forgive me because then you will become an addict - just like me.
Whether it's the creamy (but not cardiac arrest-inducing) golden grits, the glorious salsa-eggs-corn tortilla-black-bean mound that is their huevos rancheros, the garage rock playing in the background, or the cornucopia of cat-themed conversation starters in this tiny, not particularly glamorous cafe, a meal at this place is quite unlike any others you are likely to have.
Small cafe. I think there were only 4-6 booths and less space at the counter. But the service is fast and great customer service. It was a great tiny cafe to have breakfast or brunch. They serve amazingly delicious food. My favorite is the sweet potato pancakes.
As a local I do enjoy this place, but Homegrown is the best in my opinion and has a unique thrift shop/local arts inside the restaurant!
Tends to be a wait here, but the food is really good and classic. It also makes you feel even better about the food when you do get in because you're extra hungry, feel special cause there's only a few booths and life is good.
Try the sweet potato pancakes!
