“Caribbean flavors in Auburn”
Proudly serving the Auburn community since 2007, providing fresh, ethnic and Caribbean flavors. Relax with a glass of wine or beer and enjoy our fish tacos, curry dishes and burritos. We also have gluten free and vegan dishes. The menu at Joe Caribe comes from the chef-owner's many years in the restaurant industry. Before settling in Auburn, Joe Gleason lived on the central coast, in the San Francisco Bay area and Florida. He also lived in New York while attending the Culinary Institute of America. His menu is an eclectic take on island-inspired Caribbean cuisine. It includes appetizers such as fire-roasted artichokes with sherry-shallot vinaigrette and roasted garlic aioli. The Caesar salad has a red chile dressing with toasted almonds and asiago cheese. Also on the menu are specialty tacos including fresh sauteed fish, pork mojo, shrimp, and jerk chicken. Burrito selections are chicken curry with peanuts and toasted coconut. A vegetable burrito includes whipped sweet potato. House specialties are yellow curry noodles, vegetable curry and quinoa, salmon, and skirt steak with coconut creamed spinach. Do try the grilled sandwiches and sides of island slaw or ginger pickled carrots. A children's menu is offered, and we are right off exit 121 on I-80 in Auburn, CA 95603.
