“shareable small plates menu”
Not holding to any particular cooking genre or style, but rather focused on the CREATIVE, WHIMSICAL AND DELICIOUS. Not to be outdone, the bar features 14 draft beers of the the mostly local variety, at least as many bottled, 24 by the glass wines served from a state of the art cruvient system as well as innovative craft cocktails all supplemented by an ice tap that pours four ice-cold liquors instantly. Swifts is located on 3rd and Congress, above the nationally recognized Elephant Room on the second floor of the historic downtown Austin building that originally was the 1905 home to the Swift's Premium Food Co. Built to be comfortable yet exciting, Swift's Attic was designed to accent the spaces natural historic beauty and character while bringing modern elements and conveniences to our guests. The restaurant, opened by Stuart Thomajan and C.K. Chin, offers an ebullient escape from the bustling city streets below, and the restaurant group has become "one to watch" among Austin diners. Now in its second year of service under the skillful hands of executive chef Mat Clouser; sous chef, Zack Northcutt; and pastry chef, Callie Speer; Swift's shareable small plates menu has been warmly embraced on local, regional, and national levels.
This place is a must stop! Great location on top floor overlooking Congress St. Great atmosphere with very unique food and style. Order the edamame & ice ball cocktails (wait until it melts if you don't prefer strong drinks) and chill :-)
Sharing is encouraged at this chic space hidden upstairs above the Elephant Room jazz lounge, overlooking Congress Avenue. A swank interior complements luscious pork cheeks served with fig, mustard, and sourdough toast and modern takes on Texan dishes like braised goat shoulder.
