Uchi is a contemporary Japanese sushi restaurant located in Austin, Texas which opened in 2003. The Japanese word "Uchi" translates to "house" in English, and the 2700 sqft space is a refurbished home. Owner and chef Tyson Cole's menu consists of hot and cool tastings, sushi and sashimi, makimono, yakimono and tempura, and a changing omakase based on seasonal items.
Out-of-towners may know, chef Tyson Cole from his James Beard Award or his appearance on Iron Chef. Housed in a charming bungalow, his sleek restaurant serving exquisite Japanese cuisine is now an Austin mainstay. Check out the "Sake Social Hour" every weekday at 5 p.m.
