It was 1917 when West End Drug Company opened its doors in Bar Harbor. Sweethearts shared sodas at the fountain. It was a simpler, slower paced time, when the drugstore was where you could go for ice cream, medicine and counsel; where the pharmacist knew you by name. Today, things haven’t changed much at West End Drug. It’s still run by the same family and coffee is still just twenty cents.
