“a reputation for fine food since 1950”
Since our opening in the 1950′s the Idle Spurs Steakhouse has established a reputation for excellent food, friendly service, and a unique dining atmosphere. We remain one of the most popular restaurants in the High Desert region of Southern California. When the Idle Spurs Ranch was built, it was designed as a home and restaurant. A mere 20 diners were served country style beef dishes in a vibrantly decorated lounge and patio. In the mid 1970′s, the restaurant was purchased by current owner Donna Ray and her late husband Morgan, changing the name to Idle Spurs Steakhouse. They expanded into the area that was formally the living quarters & outdoor swimming pool to provide more dining space and a larger bar. A skylight in the center of the building brings life to numerous plants. Most of the decor, old machinery, and hand built wooden gadgets you find throughout the building were designs of Morgan himself. Featured on Season 4 of Man vs. Food!
If you’re coming from the 15 fwy, the road to the restaurant may look a little sketchy but it’s worth it! The interior of the restaurant is very rustic and beautiful. The ribs are AMAZING! It’s family friendly and my 3yr old had fun looking around at the lighted tree in the middle, the pictures, and cool antiques around. The staff is incredibly friendly & accommodating.
So far the best steak I have gotten southern hospitality was great friendly atmosphere made you feel at home will be back soonCalifornia
