“funky, friendly Pub by the water”
Housed in a century-old former bakery, The Backstreet Pub is famous among sailors who course the ICW and who have covered the walls with nautical memorabilia. But the Backstreet is also a local hangout for fishermen and writers, waitresses and tugboat captains, retired spies, deep sea divers and just about anyone looking for a cold beer, a fine wine and some decent conversation, perhaps, a game of cribbage. We open at noon Monday through Saturday. At five on Sunday. It’s a year round party. Some of the best rock/funk/blues bands on the East Coast keep the Backstreet rocking fifty two weekends a year. On Wednesday "Hoot Nites" local musicians gather for improv jams and our courtyard is a venue of the annual Beaufort Music Festival. Of course, our holiday parties are a matter of legend.
The best bar in Beaufort! Fantastic bartenders and service with the friendliest crowd. Come for the beer, stay for the dogs. Read more
Tonight was a psychedelic local group, they could have provided the weed ... But awesome concept, outside, sorry for the neighbors, but great for us. Love it. Read more
Great local no frills bar with a second floor for live performances with great bartenders with simple drinks...no fancy cocktails. Also a wonderful event space outside. Read more
