“campsites carefully blended into a lush wooded setting”
For R/V campers we've got 73 sites with water and electricity carefully blended into a lush wooded setting. The camp area has two large bath houses with clean showers and bathroom facilities to accommodate our guests. For our tent campers we have 15 tent sites with eletricity and water. Three small, rustic cabins are available for campers. They all contain kitchen areas, baths, a/c and heat. Each of our cabins will accommodate up to four persons. Three cottages are also available, accommodating up to six persons each. Black Bayou also sports a large primitive camping area for those who really like to get close to nature. A restroom and water spigot are conveniently located nearby.

The pull though slots are very wide and open.
The back in slots are asphalt and somewhat level.
Some of the sites don't have sewer but soon all will.
Restrooms and bath house:
Currently they are dated. I spoke to the Ranger on site and he said they are going to be torn down and updated with additional parking.
The private beach or swimming area is nice and is only for the RV guest. Their is a boat launch for only the RV guest as well.
The sites have picnic table and fire pits and have ample tree shade.
As for the other reviews on the rules and changes it's simple just abide by them. No issues for us and we didn't have the site inspected before we left.
We overnighted in our RV and found this campground to be nice. Went for a quick hike - the trails need some cleanup but we're guessing they are short staffed due to Coronavirus. It is very lush and natural and when we're through the virus, the Nature Ctr, Restrooms, Showers, etc. will be open making it a great option.
Very well maintained campground. The staff was very pleasant and the grounds are regularly patrolled. No highway noise, no trains, just the occasional boat on the lake and the occasional B-52 bomber from Barksdale AFB. Actually, I liked the bomber. 😁

My wife and I love this park and the kids enjoy the trails. The have recently built new bathroom facilities and have completely redone the beach area. The security is great when the beaches are packed! Cell service here is AT&T 3 bars LTE.

We pulled in to this park during a rainstorm, which was rough as the entire campground was full of red mud, which we then tracked into the camper. We originally tried to park in site 26, but we couldn't get our hose to reach the water supply without driving off the pad, so we moved to the next site over. The staff was kind and easy to work with in this regard. The park is overall nice and quiet, this being a winter weekend there were only a handful of other campers here and were pretty well spaced out.
The park itself could use some overall maintenance- the "nature trail" was overgrown with fallen wayfinding signs, the "wildlife overlooks" were full of empty bottles and trash - but the campground itself was clean.
