Limekiln State Park is a coastal state park featuring several lime kilns that were used in the late 19th century. It's also home to a beach, stunning redwood forest and the big showpiece is Limekiln Falls, a 100-foot cascading waterfall.

Just a note: per the website for this state park, dogs are not allowed. (Roadtrippers says they are.)

We stayed here in May of 2014 and absolutely loved it. The redwood sites are the best in our opinion, especially the sites near the creek. It’s nice to listen to sweet sounds of the water. It was also nice to walk down to the beach and enjoy the sun. Those site are much warmer as they are not shaded much. There is a great hike out of the campground to the Limekilns. Kid friendly for the most part but watch out poison ivy. We will come back for sure.

This is our perfect campground ~ beach and redwoods. We camp a lot and this is our favorite campground so far. There are some hikes into the redwoods and there is a sweet little beach. It’s out in the middle of nowhere, which is just what we love. Recommend ~

We have stayed here the last 4 years fir our Anniversary, and already reserved our spot for our next one.

So far, we have only stayed on the beach sites, which are smaller than the Redwoods site, and other campgrounds we stay at, but plenty big enough for a tent and canopy.

Flush toilets are big plus for the wife, and showers cost .25 for like 2 minutes.

Firewood cost here have increased every year we have been coming...
It started at $8 a bundle, this last camping trip it is was $15.

Weekends can be super busy, but weekdays have been much less crowded.

Limekiln State Park is the perfect place to spot some marine life. Located just 56 miles south of Carmel, California, you can check out the marine life in many of the creeks or the beach located in this state park.

One of the most popular reasons why people visit is to see the area where the three canyons meet. Visitors can take in the beauty of the amazing redwood forests while here, too.

At Limekiln State Park, you can take some of the most beautiful hikes, being completely emerged in the forest one minute and feeling the ocean breeze the next. Make sure to take in awesome views of Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and the rugged coastline.

We think a visit here is one of the best things to do in Big Sur!

Couldn’t get to it due to PCH being closed for fixing the road. I wish someone advised of that when you pass the Paso Robles but they only had a sign 5 miles away from the road block. We wasted good 2 hours because we had to drive back and up north on a different route again.
