These delicious Caramel Cookie Waffles (called stroopwafels by the Dutch) with richly filled chewy centers are one of Holland's true specialties. We have been producing Caramel Cookie Waffles at our location in Billings, Montana since 1981. Our Caramel Cookie Waffles are hand baked on flame fired irons from the finest and freshest ingredients and shipped fresh, directly to you. A vanilla and cinnamon cookie dough is pressed between flame heated waffle irons, split, and filled with fresh homemade caramel. A Stroopwafel is born ! Imagine enjoying this meld of flavors from our fresh cookies produced in the same basic manner as the Dutch since the 1800's.Jan and Han Boogman are the "Dutch Brothers". Han and Jan were born and raised in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Together with Jan's wife Judy they own and operate Caramel Cookie Waffles Bakery and Café. Coming out of Gouda (think cheese) in the Province of Holland, the recipe has been and still is closely guarded. "Stroopwafels" are produced by only a select group of specialty bakers.  You won't find this recipe in your cookbook! While still living in Holland, Han apprenticed with a stroopwafel baker before moving to the United States.Starting at festivals and fairs, we baked our Dutch treats on hand irons in the old tradition. From our market stand we sold "zillions" of these hot fresh cookies to impressed customers who wondered how we got the caramel inside the thin cookies!
